Q. Does Royal Majestic Cleaners charge a fee for Home Delivery Service?

A. NO. Delivery is free! You pay only the price of cleaning, with no minimums or additional environmental fees.

Q. Where do you pick up and drop off my clothes?

A. You choose the location at your home where you’d like your Royal Majestic personal valet to pick up and drop off your clothes (front, side, back doors, garage, etc.)

 

Q. What type of bag should I put my clothes in for pick-up?

A. We’ll provide you with a sturdy Royal Majestic Express Bag at no charge. When your Home Delivery Service personal valet picks up your order, you’ll always receive another Express Bag for your next order.

 

Q. Do I have to be at home when the drop-off or pick-up is made?

A. No. There is no need to be home to use the service. Your Royal Majestic personal valet will service the location you have designated. We use our head for inclement weather or windy days.

Q. How will I know my scheduled drop-off and pick-up days?

A. Your schedule will be arranged with your Royal Majestic personal valet when your account is set up. A nightly phone message is sent to your phone of record at 7PM, the night before your schedule p/u as a reminder.

Q. How do I pay for the service?

A. Your cleaning will be charged directly to your credit card.

Q. How can I contact my Royal Majestic personal valet?

Q. How do I tell Royal Majestic Cleaners Home Delivery Service about a special request for garment care?

A. Simply write down your special instructions and place the note in the plastic pouch attached to the soil bag. If you have any questions, simply call or e-mail us, or talk to your route rep.

Q. What if I have a problem with my order after I get my clothes back?

A. Everything we do is 100% satisfaction guaranteed, so please call or e-mail us and we will resolve the issue, usually within 24 hours!

Q. What if I need a special pick-up or drop off?

A. We pride ourselves on our world class customer service; we can make arrangements for special deliveries.

Q. What do you do besides dry cleaning?

A. We are a full service cleaner: alterations, leather, suede, and fur (repair and cleaning), bulk laundry (wash and fold and bachelor bundles), bed linens and tablecloths (regular and hand finishing), draperies (guaranteed lengths), heirlooming of wedding dresses and christening outfits, shoe shine and repair (in addition luggage repair), etc.

All dry cleaners are not created equal!

Every garment receives our exclusive 10-point European inspection process. We routinely find items that require minor repairs, and we repair them AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! We use state-of-the-art equipment using the safest, cleanest, highest quality cleaning agents available. You’ll see and feel the difference in garments professionally cleaned by Royal Majestic.

What if I am (or my spouse is) uncomfortable leaving our clothes (soiled or otherwise) outside?

In over 40 years of route experience in the Northern suburbs of the Chicago Metro area, it has been our personal experience that only a few times has someone’s clothing “disappeared” from their preset location. Usually, unmarked bags are taken by charitable collection services thinking it was a donation. Our bags are marked with cards with our names upon them. Further, we are in contact with the largest, most well-known agencies of this type and reminded them that colored, marked bags are usually dry cleaners’ or laundries’ and should not be mistaken for donations. We have virtually NO PROBLEM with this issue in over 30 years.

If you prefer, we can arrange a custom pick-up for you including back or side door, garage, etc. we have many garage door codes, keys, etc. to accommodate and make customers feel comfortable with our service.

Q: What type of solvent do you use? Is it safe? What should I look for in choosing a dry cleaner?

A: We use hydrocarbon solvent called DF 2000. This is the best hydrocarbon solvent in the industry.  The hydrocarbon solvents used today, with their high purity and higher flashpoints, are completely biodegradable and safe for the environment and for the industry workforce.

A: The hydrocarbon solvents used today, with their high purity, are completely biodegradable and safe for the environment, as well as for laundry service employees and customers. Bacteria in the naturally degrades the hydrocarbons.

The same hydrocarbons that are sold today for use in dry cleaning are also sold in the personal care market. They are used in makeup, hand cleaners, lotions, and dozens of other cosmetic products. In addition, they are approved for use in direct food contact applications, such as beet sugar manufacture and vegetable cleaning.

Q: Why choose a dry cleaning service that uses hydrocarbons?
A: As stated above, hydrocarbon solvents have a clear advantage over perchloroethylene (perc) when it comes to being safe for the environment; as well as for your personal health and the health of your family. By choosing a dry cleaner or laundry service that uses hydrocarbon solvents, you are helping to reduce environmental pollution and are providing your family with clothes that are cleaned with a process that you can be certain will cause no health problems. In addition, your clothes will have a fresh, clean scent rather than the unpleasant chemical smell of clothing cleaned with perc or Stoddard C-class petroleum used by some major market names.

Q: What’s the difference between an “organic” cleaner and a “green “cleaner?

A: Everyone today realizes the high value that the buying public has for “green initiatives”. That is why every “mom-and-pop” dry cleaner has a sign that touts themselves as a “green” cleaner, or “totally organic”.

Royal Majestic is a CERTIFIED GREEN COMPANY; it is the only certified green dry cleaner by the Green Dry Cleaners Council. We use only natural, eco-friendly fluids and solvents which do not damage the ozone layer (as do fluoro-carbon solvents in use by some competitors), contaminate the ground water, or pollute the air. Our “certification” is a result of examination and qualification by the Green Cleaners Council of IL, and the only dry cleaners operation in the Chicago suburbs Royal Majestic is a winner of the Council’s Green Leaf Award for environmental sustainability and eco-technologies. Even the energy from our steam and hot water from our boilers are reclaimed to drive the heat in our plant during the winter!

Royal Majestic recycles every other dry cleaner’s plastic bags and hangers (over 100K annually) to help reduce landfill waste. In addition, we are the exclusive user of the unique Eco-Green cleaning bags, which are 100% biodegradable and compostable. We do not charge environmental surcharges or impact fees to our customers to pay to dispose of dirty solvent or spent cartridges as “other” competitors!

Q: I want a convenient and reliable way to pay for my service. What do you do in this case?

A: Every order that is returned from us has an invoice for the specific, detailed items that we processed for you. The descriptions are even described by color, fabric, pattern, and label! We take pains to make sure you are confident that what we have picked-up, is what you are receiving back, and what you are ACCURATELY billed to clean or repair.

We take all major credit cards.

Q: I hate to deal with broken or missing buttons that come back from the dry cleaner.

A: No; in fact we replace dozens of buttons per week. Despite the fact that broken shirt buttons are more often the manufacturers using substandard, unregulated sources on other continents, we fix their problems. Other buttons are replaced as well; even if they are off when items arrive at the plant, we have many buttons in our inventory. Replace broken or missing buttons or stressed buttons which crack in process; matching existing ones, or replacing whole sets if needed. In addition, Royal Majestic performs minor sewing (hooks/eyes, tack hems/seams, holes in pockets etc.) done at no charge.

Q: What happens with rain or snow?

A: Rainy days are usually no problem. Our bags are water resistant, NOT WATERPROOF! So we ask that you put your yellow bag into a plastic bag to protect it. We will deliver your clean clothes in our ECO Green plastic bags which will protect them from moisture, under most circumstances. We try to use our heads!

In extreme weather, we will err on the side of safety and common sense; and contact you to choose an alternate delivery day or arrangement. In lieu of talking with you, we will take your delivery back and re-deliver it on the next scheduled service day.

Q: What can I do with specialty garments like leather, suede, or fur?

A: Royal Majestic handles these types of specialty garments with special care. We use a specialty skin cleaning professional, Leather Rich of Oconomowoc, who pick up and deliver to us every week. No dry cleaner in our area cleans these skins, at least correctly or safely. They use an outside vendor or your items are in jeopardy of damage due to untrained, reckless wannabes. There are specific steps to cleaning and preserving these types of garments; including pre-spotting collars, cuffs, pocket edges, and hems; re-oiling the skins for pliancy and resistance to environmental factors; spraying the finishes to refurbish them, cover damage (natural or man-made), and return original luster to the garment. Only trust professionals who specialize in leather, suede, or fur care.
